Our School  »  Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Gotherington Primary School. Please see below a link to a short film we have created for you.

A very warm welcome to Gotherington Primary School.

It is an absolute privilege to lead this vibrant and nurturing school where children are truly at the heart of everything we do. At Gotherington, we believe that every child has the potential to flourish, and it is our mission to provide the inspiration, support, and challenge they need to thrive—both academically and personally enabling them to achieve their Gotherington GOALS.

Our school community is one where strong relationships are the foundation of success. We value the partnerships we build with parents, carers, staff, and the wider village, knowing that when we work together, every child benefits. It is through these relationships that we create an inclusive environment where children feel valued, confident, and motivated to do their best.

Community is central to our ethos. Whether it's through our local links, family events, or shared celebrations, we foster a strong sense of belonging. Gotherington is more than a school—it’s a family, where every individual is seen, supported, and celebrated.

We are proud of our broad and balanced curriculum, which encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. Our Outdoor Learning offer sets us apart from other schools; we have a well-established Forest School and the children enjoy transferring their learning to real-life, hands-on experiences in nature, where they develop teamwork, and a connection to the environment. Just as importantly, we nurture kindness, resilience, and respect, equipping our children with the values and life skills that will stay with them far beyond their primary years.

I hope our website gives you a flavour of life at Gotherington Primary School. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch or arrange a visit—we’d be delighted to welcome you.
