Pen Portrait: I was previously a secondary school teacher who specialised in Modern Foreign Languages. I was re-elected as Chairman for the year 2016-17. I sit on the Personnel Committee, the Standards’ Committee and the Finance Committee. I am a safeguarding governor and the Pupil Premium governor. I am a member of the Pay and Head Teacher Performance Management panels. My curriculum areas are English, RE & Modern Foreign Languages and my link class is Y2.

Pen Portrait: I am a trained primary school teacher and currently work for Gloucestershire County Council as an Education Adviser, where my role involves monitoring, supporting and challenging schools to achieve high standards. I live in the village and have two children in the school. I am co-Vice Chair along with Jo McWattie and I chair the Standards Committee and two governor panels: the Pay Panel and the Headteacher Performance Management Panel. My curriculum areas are Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural education (SMSC), including British Values; and Early Years. My link class is Y1.

Pen Portrait: I have spent most of my early career in HR working in a large Tel co and for the past 8 years I have run my own local business, producing craft ale. I have previously been a Community school Governor, for a secondary school in South Gloucestershire. I became (Co) Vice Chair in Spring 2017, and sit on both Finance & Personnel committees. In addition I carry out the Responsible Officer duties and also sit on the Head Teacher performance management panel. My curriculum areas are PE and Gifted & Talented, and my link class is Year 5.

Pen Portrait: I am an Aerospace engineer of 26 years’ experience, 22 of which serving in the Royal Air Force. I have two children in the school. My curriculum areas of responsibility are History, Science and Music. I have class responsibility for Year 4 and sit on the Health and Safety committee.

Pen Portrait: I was previously the CEO of an international sustainable development charity and now am a part-time stay-at-home Dad and sustainability consultant. I was elected as a Parent Governor in 2016 and my primary role is that of Safeguarding Governor. My curriculum areas are PSHE, Geography and Computing and my link class is Y6.

Pen Portrait: Over the past 16 years in education I have enjoyed various challenges such as Head of Year, Assistant Headteacher, and Deputy Headteacher. In the past 5 years I developed a passion for working with vulnerable pupils and I was very pleased to take on a post as Deputy Headteacher (Teaching & Learning) at Belmont School, Cheltenham, for children with moderate learning difficulties. My son is a former pupil at Gotherington and my daughter is currently in key stage 2.

Pen Portrait: I was previously a parent governor but have now been co-opted onto the governing body to enable me to continue to lead on finance. I currently have two children at Gotherington with two other children being former pupils of the school.

Pen Portrait: I have also worked closely with the school as part of my role at Garden House. I have built up a wide range of experiences, particularly of children in the early years. I also run the before and after-school club. I am looking forward to supporting the school and school staff in my role as a governor.

Pen Portrait: I am currently a Teaching Assistant at Gotherington, working in Year 5. I have a wide range of experiences in a number of schools as a teaching assistant and have worked across a range of classes, including Year 6. I value the trust that staff have placed in me to their staff governor and I am looking forward to the challenges that the role brings.

Pen Portrait: I have been at Gotherington for 14 years. My children attended Gotherington and I am a former parent and staff governor. I currently work in key stage 1 as a teaching assistant and I am a midday supervisor. I am fully trained to deliver the ‘In Gloucestershire Children Count’ maths interventions to children in need of support with their maths and lead on health and safety.

Pen Portrait: I have worked at Gotherington for five years and I have been the Deputy Headteacher since September 2017. I teach Year 5 and have subject responsibility for Mathematics across the school. I am also the lead for teaching, learning and assessment. I support the Headteacher with the day-to-day running of the school and have also gained valuable experience of leading the school in the Headteacher’s absence. I am also the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. I sit on the Standards Committee.
